I told ya!

This past Sunday, we had to run to Target to get another Snow White costume for Hailey. We rushed out the door and headed on our way. Hailey was exhausted and her sugar high was definitely starting to wear off from the day of trick or treating with her dad. Half way to Target Hailey starts to whine for her blanket. Pretty sure we didn't grap it when we left the house, I jsut proceeded to tell Hailey that we didn't have it and that we left it at home. Well this made Hailey even more frustrated with us and she cried and just kept saying over and over again that she wanted her blanket. And so finally, I turned on the car light and was like Hailey do you see it? (Hoping this would show her that in fact that it was not in the car to hand to her) Instead Hailey goes yeah its right there! HA! Whoops! Told Hailey sorry over and over again and she just simply says "I told ya!"

One more time Mom!

Hailey's new thing lately is after we do something she always has to say "One more time Mom" or 2 more times or 5 more times! We are definitely into those trying 3s phase!

This past weekend we had a great time but man was it frustrating with her! She didn't listen for anything and finally resulted to getting her butt swatted a few times.

This weekend we went to my favorite little pizza place, Deweys, and Hailey did fairly good, just always wanting to go over to the other booths and peak over. Saturday I took her to go get her hair cut fixed. Got it cut a week or so ago and the girl missed a huge section. So we did that and then went and got our coffee at Starbucks (she gets her strawberry smoothie but its her coffee and don't ya dare tell her any different!). She took a nap and then we went to a jewelry show, she went with me and hasn't been to one in a while. She did really well! Came home and then went grocery shopping, which she repeatedly asked for a toy over and over and over and over again! Ordered mexican food and she actually ate a soft taco!

Sunday was church and so did really well for not being there in a while. Then after that it was to the pumpkin patch! Chad had taken Hailey the weekend before so she was a pro and knew where everything was and showed us around! Best of all she loved the slide that landed in a pile of strawl! I think she could have done that all day! And of course every time she went down the slide she would ask "One more time mom?!" We rode a wagon out to the pumpkin patch and got to pick any pumpkin we wanted.

That evening we carved and painted our pumpkins and also made sugar cookie dough to eventually make pumpkin cookies out of them!

It was a great weekend...even if everything was "one more time!"

Hailey in all of mommy's fun stuff after I got back from National Rally in Dallas. She is definitely a girly girl!

September 2009

This month Hailey started up her tap and ballet dance classes. What a difference does a year make! She LOVES it this year and does so well. This is going to be great for her and a chance to make some new friends outside of daycare.

Hailey also started preschool this month. She is loving it and doing really well. Lately her biggest thing is doing puzzles and loves doing them! And the new thing at daycare is "Your my best friend" or the "your not my best friend" talk amoungst the little ones. Hailey is constantly hearing from me that we are nice to everyone and we don't people that they are not our friends. Hailey is also a loud child in school her teacher says and sometimes bossy! ha! I have to say though I am glad that she is loud rather than quiet and shy, been there done that and would rather her be the other way! I'm an anxious for all of the school art projects that she will be coming home with this year! I've got a folder started already of her work and I can't believe it but I get now why mom saved all of our papers from school all those years! Trying not to be as bad and only keeping the favorites and sending the rest off to the friends/family.

We also this month went to Disney on Ice 100 years of Celebration! Just went last night and Hailey did not know what we were getting into. She was very apprehensive about the whole thing and wasn't really sure what to think. We walked in and there were instantly all kinds of stands for Disney toys and tshirts and dolls. Very overwhelming for Hailey! All she wanted to do was get to our seats. I talked her into going and getting one of those light up toys that were out there hoping that would get her excited and she liked that idea.

The show started and Hailey was amazed! She clapped and waved to everyone! She loved it! And I don't think she actually believed what was happening either! ha She really enjoyed herself and when we got back in the car to go home she tells me she wants to go again on Tuesday! haha ok Hailey!

Now for Halloween she wants to be Belle....that should be an easy one!

Summer 2009

Wow I can't believe that this summer has already come to an end! Yikes! We had a great time this summer. Join the Zoo and went to several of them in the area including out trip to the Fort Wayne zoo where we stayed over night. Hailey's first hotel visit was not so great, took forever to get her to sleep but she loved jumped on the beds! Also went to our yearly visit to the Great Darke County Fair. Hailey loved the rides this year and also took her first turn on a Kid rollarcoaster. I was so nervous about (I hate rollar coasters) and I was not sure how she would do. She was a brave girl but she did not enjoy it at all. Scared to death and I was in tears watching her. Not a fun moment at all!

Over all the summer was great, Hailey has definitely grown up a lot since her birthday in March. Her imagination is alive and well! She loves to play dress up and anything princess is her favorite. She is also really starting to pick up on words of songs and sing along and even make up her own songs. She has become quite the actress/singer lately with the occasionaly show she will put on!

Spring/Summer

Wow it's already memorial day weekend...I seriously need to get better as posting things.

After Hailey's 3rd birthday towards the end of March she got sick with a bad flu bug and was basically sick for 1 1/2 weeks. Cutest moment ever was when she was sitting at the island with me coloring and real serious looks at me and goes "Mommy I'm purring" ha! Her stomach was really making a lot of noise and she thought she was purring like our cat Mya.

Easter was great, Hailey loved her Easter dress and the easter egg hunt was a hit.

I got laid off for a short period of time and was so looking forward to spending the summer with Hailey at the park and the pool and doing fun things. But I got called back which was fine we'll just have to make our weekends together that much better. So Hailey is back in school (daycare) again and she loves it and I love it too. They did a Mother's day presentation for all the mother's and it was so cute. Hailey's entire class walked out and was all glued to their teachers...never would have thought it was their mom sitting out in the audience...Hailey would even hide her face from me. It was very cute and made me very proud to be her mom.

Lately, Hailey has been showing that she really does have a good heart. One morning this week, me and her got into it about the clothes she was going to wear that day. It was supposed to eb over 80 degrees and of course that is the day Hailey wants to wear jeans and her pink boots. I told her no because it was going to be too hot. She threw a fit and layed on the floor kicking and screaming. After a very short time (which surprised me) Hailey came up to me and put her arms around my neck and said she was sorry and hugged me and gave me a kiss. What a sweet precious little girl I have....independent as all get out and I love that but with a very big heart too.

Hailey's three...how did that happen?!

Well today Hailey is 3 years old. No idea how that happened. I sound like a total cliche when I say...I went back to this day 3 years ago and remembered how I felt and what we were going through and the entire 21 hours of labor to bring Hailey into this world!!!! :o) But I will never forget that day...that day changed my life forever and she will always be my beautiful baby girl who made the world stop for just a breif moment the first time I held her and looked into my eyes. She was and is still the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

Now looking back I don't know what I did with all of my time and what I would do now without her in my life. I wouldn't want to go back to those days by any means...what a waste of time on myself. She is worth every second of my day and I will NEVER forget those first few moments with her...probably will be those moments that I think of last right before I die someday.

Hailey sweetheart, if you ever read this someday, I want you to know that you are my everything and that I love you more than anything in this world. You have made my life worth everything and you are only 3 years old...I can only imagine what joy you will bring to me in the years ahead!

I am so proud of who you are and I love you so much sweetheart!

Hailey's 3rd Birthday

Today was Hailey's 3rd birthday...just a few pictures from the day. Chad and I took Hailey out to eat for her birthday. It was a lot of fun to spend that time with her.

Hailey's new thing is to go to the Libaby (library)! She loves getting books and checking them out and getting movies to watch.

Mostly I just like to hear her say ....libaby! :o)

PJ Day Today at Daycare

Today is PJ and bring your teddy bear day at school.

This morning Hailey was very confused as to why she was wearing her PJs to school. She was confused even more when I took her out of her footie jammies and put on a 2 peice set...she kept asking "Mom where's my clothes??...I wear clothes today"

It took a lot of convincing and reminding her that her teacher told her last night to wear her jammies to school and that all ofher friends at school would be wearing them too!!

Valentine's Day

This past Saturday was Valentine's Day and Hailey and I didn't really do anything special, just enjoyed the weekend to ourselves with really nothing going on.

I gave her a goodie bag filled with little books/activity books/movie/whatever else I found at the Target Dollar Bin.

But my favorite memory from this day was I decided to take Hailey out to eat for lunch, we hadn't been out to eat in a long time and so I thought it would be fun for us to do.

So we went to Bob Evans and Hailey sat acrossed the table from me. She amazed me how well she did. I had to distract her at times but otherwise she was just amazed at what everyone else was doing. She asked lots of questions of where people were going and I had to come up with some answer to fit her liking. She saw little girls walking up with their parents to the restuaurant and she insisted they were her friends!

We even enjoyed chocolate sundaes to which she insisted that she finish mine because I was full!! :o) When we left the restuaurant and walking back to the car and were holding hands, Hailey looking at the ground says "I love you Mommy" out of no where and then looks up at me. Of course my eyes quickly filled up with tears (yes i am that mom that cries) and gave her the biggest hug ever.

I love my little girl so much!!

Bedtime Excuses - they are going to make me turn grey waaaaay before they are supposed to!

So this is partly my fault...well...probably ALL of my fault, but Hailey has every excuse in the book at bedtime.

- we go potty before bed or at least try
- brush teeth
- get into bed
- then she has to get out of bed because I can't pick out the book we are going to read even though it is the sameone every night.
- Back into bed and covered up
- read the book (as fast as I can get her through it)
- needs more water in her cup even though it is filled up but she wants NEW water
- say our prayers
- hugs and kisses
- potty again sometimes if I haven't lost my patience yet..
- hugs and kisses again
- I love yous and good night
-FINALLY the door is shut and she is off to dream land

other excuses she comes up with when she is REALLY desperate:
- she suddenly finds and owie and needs a band aid
- she wants the night light off and then after the door closes and quickly realizes she wants that back on
- She'll try for a 2nd book....she can always ask
- when we are in big trouble and when she asks to sleep in mommy's bed...then I know I'm in for a rough night.

Why oh WHY did I give into her requests when she started doing this?!?! *sigh*

New Daycare

Well I moved Hailey to the new daycare in Troy end of January and it is working out so well!!! I am so happy and Hailey is doing so good there!! I thought the first time that when she was in daycare that what I was feeling was normal but it was so not!!! I am so comfortable with this place and love that she goes there!

It is so nice to see her thriving and enjoying all of the fun things they do at school (daycare). This week they made their valentine boxes and every night when I pick her up she has brought me over to where it is and has to show me it!! She is so proud!

Her teachers are very impressed with how well she has done even and says that she is very smart!!! :o)

This week we even had progress and she will take her coat off in the morning and will walk over to where they eat breakfast and I don't have to peal her off of me and hand her over to one of the teachers!!!!

Back to daycare

So I've decided to put Hailey back into daycare. Things with my cousin Becky just wasn't seeming to be the best situation for Hailey. Hailey was being moved around a lot depending on Becky's work schedule and it just seemed like Hailey needed a more scheduled routine and consistency.

Hailey will be going to a different daycare than what she was going to and I think this one is going to work out much better for us.

And and added bonus, Hailey is SO excited to be going back to 'school' ie daycare. She thinks she is going back to the same place but tomorrow we are going to go to the new school and check it all out together and get her things all situated so she is ready to go next Monday when she starts. I'll be glad to have her back in there knowing that its a better situation for her and it helps that she really does enjoy it a lot!

Mornings with Hailey

Mornings with Hailey are always interesting, totally depends on her mood and what she is willing to do or how fast she is willing to do something I should say.

But one thing that I find so funny and love to listen to is her current thing with Dora and Blues Clues shows. She gets so into it and will run from the couch to the TV and point out the correct answer (which explains why my TV screen is always filled with fingerprints) or yelling at the TV with the answers and the occassional getting mad because they don't get to the right answer as fast as she would like.

She also is HUGE into doing the singing/dances and motions to whats going on in the shows. Its very cute and funny to watch how much she gets into it.

I seriously LOVE this age!!!

2008 in Rewind...

2008 was a good year for me and Hailey when I look back on it. We had our good times and our bad times but we definitely came out on the good end.

I worked my 2nd tax season and didn't know it at the time but it was my last (thank God!) I hated tax season, it broke my heart to hear my mom tell me that Hailey would come home at night and look for me. It wasn't fair to her, she needs me around and I want to be around. My career is not that important that I have to miss out on her.

Hailey turned 2 on March 4, 2007. Of course I cried and was so proud of her and how much she has grown. She really is a strong kid and adjusts so well to what is thrown at her. We had a Dora themed birthday party for her.

April 18th I lost my job...most devastating news I had ever received. I hated my job but I think I was just so upset about it because that was my full-time income and that I had just finished working all those hours and not to be appreciated it at all. I felt so deceived and I am so glad to not be apart of that place anymore. God knew what he was doing when he got me out of there.

April 19th-July 6th I was home with Hailey. It was rough, lots of boring days at first and lots of crying but we turned it around and realized that we can enjoy each other and I learned that I really want to be a stay at home mom someday, I really do. Never thought I would say that but it meant so much to be to be able to spend those days with Hailey. Her getting to sleep in until she woke up, staying in our PJs till 10am, going to the park and the pool. It was a lot of fun. I wish I would have enjoyed it more during that time, but of course i was stressed too about having to find a job. But thankfully God provided me with lots of jewelry shows during that time and we were able to actually save money then. And of course it broke my heart when I told Hailey that Mommy was going back to work that she told me no and that she wanted to stay with me. I was crying too because i didn't want to miss out on anymore time with her that I had already missed out on.

July 7th - I started my new job with Robert Half International and I love it! Well...not love it that i wouldn't want to be home with Hailey but what a difference it makes. I'm able to talk to my boss and express any concerns I have with her. The people i work for actually appreciate me. What a difference!!

Week before July 7th I went full force with potty training Hailey, went straight to underwear and never looked back. She did awesome. By the end of July she had everything down and we were down to maybe 1 accident a week if that. It took her a while to learn how to poop on the potty but once she got it she had it.

September after Labor Day Hailey went to daycare and KinderCare in Troy. She loved it and did very well there. She was the leader in the potty training area and the teachers adored her. Hailey also now will refer to herself as a Big Girl!!! And she loves that she is!

I always knew I would make sure my kids knew how I felt about them and I would tell them constantly that I love them and that I am proud of them. I love to see Hailey's face light up when I tell her I am proud of her, she may not know what proud means but you can tell she just is glowing!! And I promise that I will always be there for all of her ups and downs and she can count on me to always be there - no matter what and I truly mean that.

October - Hailey went through a 2 week phase of being very aggressive and it really scared me. Didn't know where it came from and had to crack down pretty hard on standards of what was ok and not ok and following through more.

November - Thanksgiving and seeing Santa Claus for the first time this year.

December - Christmas parties like crazy!!

Hopefully 2009 will be a good year for us. Hailey will be turning 3 and I'll be turning 26 and in September of 2009 Hailey will be attending St. John the Baptist's pre-school program 2 days a week in the morning. Its going to be a good year...

End of 2008...

Well Christmas with Hailey this year was great. The holidays are always tough because we have to make things work with Hailey going to her dad's house and family parties. There is always so much going on and we have to really focus on what the priorities are and go with those rather than trying to do everything.

But this year with Hailey was great. I was kind of bummed after leaving my parents house on Christmas Eve at 9;30pm and Hailey already asleep in the car after not even 5 minutes that I wasn't really going to get to spend time with her for our Christmas. I just felt like everything was so rushed and I couldn't really just sit there and enjoy it with Hailey. But we got home and I woke her up and carried her in and I told her to look under the tree and SANTA CLAUS CAME!!!!

Her face was the one I had been waiting to see all night. She was amazed and loved it and was so excited she didn't know where to start first. She asked me "Mommy can I hope my presents?!" and she went to one opened it and then wanted to open another. And of course I couldn't get things put together fast enough. Hailey I think really just enjoyed opening the presents and seeing the surprises hidden beneath the paper. She was so excited!

I got everything put together finally and Hailey was playing with all of her baby dolls that Santa Claus brought. Finally at 11:30pm we had to get to bed. Hailey wanted to play but she needed to get to bed because we had to be at her dad's at 8am on Christmas morning.

It was the best thing ever though...I could have skipped everything else and just spent the night with Hailey and enjoyed our Christmas together.
