December Festivities

Hard to believe that December is here and that Christmas it literally just around the corner.  It's been a great month, lots of fun being had.  I've been baking like crazy and I'm getting to the point where if I see another cookie or chocolate covered pretzel it's going to just push me way over the edge!  lol 

This month Hailey officially started girl scouts and we had our first outing with them at a Christmas tree farm here in Troy and made table centerpieces with our Christmas mugs and evergreens.  It was a lot of fun.  Hailey is going to enjoy girl scouts a lot, it's going to be something fun we'll be able to do together. Also this month Hailey and Grandma made their annual gingerbread house together, always something fun Hailey enjoys with Grandma. Toby sure enjoyed waiting by Hailey's seat waiting to see if anything would fall on the floor. 

Speaking of Toby...the poor thing got a hair cut from me this month and for a while he looked like he had a lopside mohock or a small child went after him witha scissors.  The groomer last time left the  hair on his head way too long and there was no way I was gonna take him back just to get his head trimmed up.  I thought I could do it no problem.  Well...let's just say that now when Toby sees a scissors he starts to instantly shake.  lol  Poor guy.  After numerous attempts to try to fix it I just let it go and it'll grow out looking ok right??  lol Some of our visitors definitely had a good laugh at him though when they came to our place. 

And of course this month we watch Luked a couple of times for Aunt Tracy and Uncle Chris.  Love that Lukester so much!!!  Uncle Chris was deployed again this month so that was a sad but we'll see him in March just after Hailey's birthday.  One of these years he will be at her birthday party!! 

Last but not least our annual attempt to get a good Christmas card picture.  Aunt Tracy took it this year and to say the least...Hailey was "lots of fun" while doing this.  Thankfully we got a couple of good ones out of the 50 or so that Aunt Tracy took.

November - Where did it go???

Well here we are at the end of November and I have lost track of time and have fell behind in blogging. November was a busy month for us. I had lots of jewelry shows and Hailey had a lot of activities too. Early in November I went with Hailey's kindergarten glass on their field trip to Stillwater Prairie. I give those kindergartener teachers a lot of credit for how the can handle 20 kids at a time!!!

I also took Hailey to the eye Dr this month and we discovered that Miss Hailey definitely needed glasses. She picked out the pair she wanted right away and has done great with them so far. Sometimes we will forget to put them on and she'll soon realize she doesn't have them and she'll go get them herself. She's amazed how much they actually help her.

Hailey's also doing great in school and I'm sure she's going to be doing a lot better with her glasses on and being able to see properly. She seems a lot more confident now which is great!

Also this month we started our Holiday baking of our goodies and Hailey was a HUGE help this year. It's amazing to see her progress over the years and how much she wants to help each year.

Happy Halloween!

Last night was Troy's Trick-or Treat and as always Hailey made out big time and we only walked 1/2 of our neighborhood!  Hailey was Minnie Mouse this year and Toby was a skelton.  First we stopped by Aunt Tracy and Uncle Chris' house to see Luke and he was all dressed up in the pumpkin costume Hailey wore when she was just 7 months old, hard to believe that it used to fit her!!!  Enjoy the pictures!

It's Fall Ya'll!

Well it is officially fall in Ohio and we've been taking part in our annual activities.  This past weekend we went to Fulton Farms to go get our pumpkins.  We had a blast and part of me can't believe that we've been doing this for 3 or 4 years now.  It was a great day for Hailey and Mommy!  We came home and put our pumpkins outside and Hailey brought her's in to paint. 

Also with it being fall now that means cooler temperatures which means lots of baking!  This past week Hailey helped me make brownies...she even cracked the eggs for me.

Mommy's Heels

Well we are now 3 weeks into school and things are going great!  Kindergarten is exactly what Hailey needed.  She needed the push to learn more and a challenge but also the structure of it all she needed.  She's been testing her kindergarten teacher some that I've heard but I've told her teacher to stay firm and Hailey will learn she can't pull one over on the teacher!  ha!  But things have been going great!  Yesterday was already picture day at school.  Also have gotten lots of activities for Hailey to be involved in and I think I am going to sign her up for girl scouts as well.  Be ready for cookie time later this winter! 

I am so thankful though that I haven't had many jewelry shows going on in September this month because of everything we've had going on with Hailey starting school and just getting into a new routine.  Every night she empties her bookbag for me and we go through her papers together.  A lot of it is good review for her right now and how to properly write her letters and numbers and it just amazes me how quickly she catches onto things!  Probably my favorite time of the night is going through her school papers while I'm making dinner.  

The weekends have been great just hanging out at home and as always no matter how big my Hailey gets she always loves to play dress up!  She will dig in my closet until she finds my red heels and then she's off in her room creating some kind of dinner or dance party or she's off to go shopping she tells me!  Love watching her do this!  See the picture below of her outfit this weekend, actually all tied together!

New Puppy! Meet Toby

This weekend I surprised Hailey by getting a new puppy!  I've been thinking of getting one for a while and just hadn't found "the one" yet, well last week I found him and we met him on Saturday after Hailey's soccer game.  We named  him Toby, he is a maltipoo and a big sweetheart.  Very much a people dog and loves to play and loves to cuddle when wanting to nap.  He and Hailey are quickly becoming best of buds and he even cries when she walks out of the room. 

The first night was very rough on me, I think Toby cried for 4-5 hours straight!  Which I will admit this was my fault for letting him sleep so much that evening, duh!  But the 2nd night wasn't great but it was better, so I hope that each night keeps getting better and better. 

He loves it when Hailey lays on the ground and those two wrestle, which really means Hailey laying there giggling and Toby jumping on her and licking her face.  He also is a major lap dog, when he's tired it wants to cuddle or be close to you, last night I was sitting on the floor playing with him trying to really wear him out for bedtime and when he was done he kept trying to climb on my lap and curl up.  He's also doing great so far with potty training and only had 1 accident so far!  See a picture of Toby below!

1st day of Kindergarten!

Yesterday was Hailey's first day of kindergarten at Concord.  She was so excited!  I made her breakfast in the morning and got her all ready for school and then we went to daycare where she will be getting on and off the bus at.  Hailey had a great first day!  She brought home a picture she colored for me and she got her first STAR Award for having a great first day!  We went out for dinner at Applebees after I picked her up to celebrate her first day of school.  She was tired but she is ready to go back again today!  Check out the pictures below of her big day!

Kindergarten Open House

This past Sunday we had Hailey's open house for Kindergarten and got to meet her teacher Mrs. Sofia.  Hailey was so excited by the new room and all the "cool things" it had in there for her to check out.  She is ready for this...but this has just reaffirmed how I am so NOT ready for her to be going to school yet...she's really can't be this big can she???  Didn't we just bring her home from the hospital yesterday?  But even though I want to fight it as much as possible, I know Hailey is ready and needs to go to kindergarten!  I will be so glad when this week is over.  Her first day isn't until Wednesday and I couldn't sleep last night!  UGH!  Check out the pictures below of Hailey's kindergarten Open House.

This past weekend while I was working a fundraiser Hailey got to go fishing with Uncle Chris and Aunt Tracy.  She had a blast!  She is so lucky to have such a great aunt and uncle!!!  We are so happy they are back in Ohio again!  Check out the pictures below of their day.
